Beutel Seminar
Under the auspices of the World Union for Progressive Judaism and the Saltz Institute in Jerusalem, The Beutel Seminar for Progressive Jewish Leadership Development is a proactive response to the critical need to develop a future generation of volunteer leaders to guide our worldwide movement into the 21st Century.
The annual institute, held at Mercaz Shimshon-Beit Shmuel at the World Union Culture and Education Centre in the heart of Jerusalem , brings together a wide variety of leaders from across the globe. They meet and interact in an intensive ten day seminar format with colleagues from different countries and Jewish backgrounds.
The program includes daily worship services, text study, and perspectives about leadership. There are opportunities to explore Jerusalem and field trips to Progressive congregations and kibbutzim.
The Union for Progressive Judaism has annually sponsored a number of participants from our region in this program.
